Hood Faculty Attend the 24th Congress of the International Study for the Old Testament
Professor Dora Mbuwayesango, George E. and Iris Battle Professor of Old Testament and Dean of Students, 网红爆料, was invited to make a presentation at the 24th Congress of the International Study for the Old Testament (IOSOT), August 8-12, 2022, in Z眉rich, Switzerland. The topic of her paper was 鈥淎 Gendered Venture: The Disavowing and Devaluing of Women鈥檚 Contribution and the Dispossession of Israelite Women in the Book of Numbers.鈥� IOSOT was founded in 1950 in Leiden, Netherlands and is dedicated to the academic excellence and intellectual diversity. The paper will be published in the Vetus Testamentum, a quarterly publication of IOSOT, early next year. Andrea Shores Porter, Professor Mbuwayesango鈥檚 friend and a resident of Salisbury, attended her presentation to provide moral support. Afterwards, the two took time to enjoy the beautiful sites of Z眉rich and Geneva before heading home.
